Things You Should Know About Dreamforce Sponsorship

Dreamforce is by far the biggest expo on cloud computing. It is an event organized by salesforce.com, where a huge community of customers, experts and developers converge. This is one of the biggest events on cloud computing worldwide and is perhaps the best venue for networking with the who’s who of the industry. Although participating as an attendee is an exciting prospect on its own, sponsoring Dreamforce is something that a lot of organizations look forward to. This article will try to highlight some of the advantages, the requirements and answers to a few commonly asked questions about Dreamforce sponsorship.

What is The Need for Sponsoring Dreamforce?

Salesforce has become one of the biggest players in the industry when it comes to cloud computing. Not only is it developing its applications and platform on a regular basis but it is also acquiring some of the major companies in the world as its customers. The latest bigwigs to join the Salesforce bandwagon include Google, Amazon, LinkedIn, among others. All these companies share a common goal when it comes to Salesforce: improved CRM. You not only become a part of this elite club but will also have a number of advantages when you become a Dreamforce sponsor.

Advantages of Becoming a Dreamforce Sponsor

Exposure is probably the biggest advantage you have when you are a Dreamforce sponsor. Last year, there were more than 46,000 attendees representing more than 10,000 companies in the Dreamforce expo. You get to show off your offering and also network with these people who might be potential clients. Also, since most companies from your industry would be present, you can use the platform to establish your organization as one of the leading vendors in your niche.

Although you will need an astute marketing pro to carry this out, many organizations have done this with minimum resources in the past and succeeded too. You can also get CRM tips from other Salesforce users and that data is extremely valuable in today’s market.

Levels of Sponsorship

Dreamforce Sponsorship

It is not easy to get a sponsorship deal for Dreamforce and it is usually done on a first come first serve basis. There are basically 5 levels of sponsorship: platinum, gold, silver, bronze and exhibitor. The amount that you must sponsor will be highest for platinum and lowest for exhibitor class. However, the benefits are also the highest for platinum level sponsors and lowest for exhibitors. But the fact of the matter is that any level of sponsorship is worth the money and you will definitely find that it contributes immensely to the growth of your business.

How to add Add Professionalism to Your Business

Telephone etiquette has the potential to make or break a business deal. Your callers will have a good impression about your business if their calls are answered in a professional manner. Transferring a call may be a small thing, but it is much more than simply knowing the buttons on your telephone system that must be pushed. The way in which you answer calls will portray the image of your business, so it is important to ensure that proper phone etiquette is observed when you answer a call.

The growth of your business may be determined by the way in which you handle customer queries, complaints and calls. If your customers are not pleased by your employee’s telephone etiquette, they may never call you again. You don’t want to risk losing customers because of an employee's bad manners, and you don't want to waste the time and money it took to train the employee. If you want professional receptionists to manage your client calls with consistency and efficiency, you can avail an Off Premise Reception service.

This software helps you book appointments, cancel them, or change them as required.

Client retention and client referrals are enhanced when you hire an off premise reception provider to assist you with answering phone calls. Maintaining first-class telephone service for your clients shows them that your company is reliable and successful. Your customers will definitely be impressed with your company’s professionalism and this in turn, will result in an increase in revenue.

Office Diets: How to Encourage Employees to Eat Better

The health of the employees of an organization is as much a concern to the employer as it is to the employee. It is becoming increasingly clear to employers that they need to help their employees live healthier lifestyles, both at and outside of work. Some companies have now implemented dieting plans that are offered as an extra benefit in the workplace. This post will focus on easy ways to encourage healthier food consumption at work.

1. Set up a Kitchen

Easy access to a kitchen that is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave can help motivate employees to prepare healthy meals. Getting up and taking a break to quickly prepare a healthy meal as opposed to going off to eat out for lunch will greatly benefit the employees. It provides them with a little exercise at the end of which they come away with a healthy meal to consume.

2. Start an Eat Healthy Competition

Small competitions in the workplace are always a good way of having fun and relieving stress. The same can be done to encourage healthy eating among employees. This will allow them to build support groups which will help them to keep each other on their toes. The competition could dictate a range of food items allowed as a part of each day's diet. Employees will then formulate a sumptuous meal from the items that are allowed and this must be pre-prepped at home or done in the office kitchen. The person or team that comes up with the most popular combinations throughout the competition becomes the winner.

3. Replace Vending Machine Items with Healthy Options Such as Fruits and Healthy Snack Bars

It is ok for employees to snack in between meals, but the options must be healthy snack items. Replace sweet and salty snacks with fruits such as apples, salads, natural juices and sandwiches. The foods in a vending machine are usually are usually just empty calories that are not filling and only cause the individual to eat more and more. Consider partnering with a local food store to supply your office/health machine with a supply of fresh fruits and even fruit salads each day.

4. Encouraging Exercise Through the Setup of the Workspace Helps Build a Healthy Appetite

Even a small amount of exercise during the day is helpful for maintaining health and building a healthy appetite. While some people over indulge, some of us under eat. A work place that is set up to require some energy burning will naturally cause us to be hungry. When we are stressed the feel good hormones known as serotonin and dopamine become blocked. When we get up and move, these hormones are released, which helps us to feel better. Going up and down a flight of stairs is a great way for employees to get in some exercise while they work. As little as seven minutes walking up or down the stairs will help to build a good appetite while at the same time reducing the risk of heart disease.

Even if you don't actively search for a job using Twitter, companies will still research your profile on social media sites as part of a background check. So make sure to put your best foot forward. Make a profile that presents who you are and what you want out of life and your career.

Follow, Follow, Follow

Follow groups, organizations, and most importantly companies on Twitter. If there is a new type of career or opportunity trending on Twitter, you can find and follow tweets by searching for hashtags.

Make the Most of Personal Connections

Advancing your career sometimes comes down to who you know. Make an effort to find friends and family that have connections or jobs in the hospitality industry and make sure to follow people in their own social media networks. This is a powerful way to find out about new opportunities in your area that aren't publically advertised.

Tweet And Retweet

The best aspect of social media is how easy it is to interact with others. You just need to tweet, retweet, and reply to other tweets. You can tweet about previous experiences in the hospitality industry, comment on industry news, and put out announcements or questions about job opportunities. More importantly, you can retweet or reply to posts by companies and key industry personalities to get their attention and create options to share your resume.

10 Tips For Preparing Yourself For an Interview

Preparation is a big part of the interview process. You will, or you should, spend more time getting ready for the interview than you will at the interview itself. This preparation includes getting to know more about the company and the position you are applying for, and preparing yourself to explain how your assets make you the best person for the position. And of course, there is the time it takes to make yourself presentable. Going to the job interview can be a stressful situation for many. The best way to help relieve this stress is to maintain a positive attitude and be prepared. Consider the following ten tips as you prepare for your interview.
1. Be Positive. Go into the interview confident that you have prepared well. This does not mean conveying a "know-it-all" attitude, with a cocky demeanor. Be self-assured and look forward to the occasion as an opportunity for you to demonstrate what you know and how it will meet the employer's needs.
2. Be ready for the questions you will likely be asked.
Think of the answers you want to give. Although you will never completely know in advance every question they will ask you, there are questions that get asked in almost every interview. Learn what they are and try to anticipate what the others might be. Interview questions are usually sourced from the job posting. If they are looking for a particular skill set, make sure you can explain how you will meet that expectation.
3. Know why you want to work for their company.
Do your best to obtain information about the company before the interview. Do some research, using their website, scanning through annual reports if they publish one, being familiar with projects they are currently work on. This will help you to couch your answers in the context of what their core business is all about.
4. Study the job description and know about the job.
Most job postings have a list of core duties/responsibilities as well as what qualifications are required. Study these well and frame your answers accordingly.
5. Know what you have to offer -
That is, what education/training you have had and what work experiences you have done that makes you the ideal candidate for the position. Be thorough in your self-assessment, think broadly about all you have learned and experienced. You may surprise yourself with what skills you have acquired previously.
6. Come to the interview with a prepared list of references
That can be handed over to the interviewer. This should include names, addresses, telephone numbers and email contacts, and make sure you have asked permission from those on the list in advance.
7. Take copies of your resume with you to the interview.
In most cases, the interviewer will have your resume already, but it never hurts to have a back up copy just in case. And be sure it is the most current and relevant resume for the position the interview is for.
8. It is very important that you make sure you get to the interview location on time, and that means well in advance. Know where you are going and how long it will take you to get there.

How to Get A Job In 2012

According to media reports, the economy and job market seem to be improving for job-seekers. However, to benefit from these favorable projections, you must have an effective job-seeking strategy and a tightly focused approach to landing the job you desire. The employment atmosphere in 2011 was somewhat different than it was a decade ago, and you must strive to gain an advantage over others competing for the same job. With job openings in short supply and countless applicants applying for the same job, how do you outshine your competition?
The most important thing you (as a job-applicant) can do is to make yourself memorable. The key areas to focus on in your job search are:

Your Resume

Make sure you have a current, targeted resume which gives a detailed outline of your objectives, professional skills and previous jobs-with dates of employment and location of the companies. Also include certifications and other acknowledgements and achievements that may be pertinent to the position you're seeking. For example, if the job is in an architectural firm and you hold a real estate license, include that on your resume. It's a lateral field but architecture involves designing and building, which makes your real estate knowledge highly desirable. Be sure all of your resume information is complete. When you give vague or incomplete information on your resume, hiring managers will assume most of it is untrue. This can cause you to appear immature and unprofessional... not to mention untrustworthy, and will greatly reduce your chances of being considered for the position. If information is omitted, you need to have a suitable explanation for the missing data.

References

Have a list of references already prepared so that if the hiring manager asks for them you can provide them on the spot. Be sure and contact your references beforehand to make them aware that they may be contacted by a certain company or companies. This way, they'll be prepared to discuss your strengths and abilities without being caught off guard.

Punctuality

Arrive on time, or a bit early, to the interview. This is imperative since it sets the tone for the interview process. If a hiring manager has been forced to alter their schedule to accommodate your tardiness, they won't be happy nor will they think too highly of you. If you're late for the interview they'll assume it's a pattern that will carryover into your employment with them.

Preparing for the interview:

Nailing an interview can be a complex feat, especially when you factor in nerves. Overcoming nervousness in an interview is an age-old chore that takes practice. As the saying goes, practice makes perfect. Spend some time beforehand rehearsing a mock interview with a friend or family member. You could even practice by yourself in a mirror. Take note of your body language, facial expressions and tone of voice. Look at yourself from the interviewer's perspective and honestly assess whether you'd be impressed if you were them.

Having the right look

For ages a business suit has been the preferred attire for an interview. However, in the current social climate, you should dress according to the type of job you're applying for and the kind of business it is. If it's a professional office environment, naturally, a business suit is appropriate. But if the job is in hospitality at an elite but laid back country club or resort, you should tone down the executive look a bit and tailor your style of clothing to the look that would be appropriate for that particular industry. Obviously, always dress neatly and be well-groomed. You want to look your best and look professional, but you also want to look like you'll fit in.

During the interview

This is your time to shine. You may be one of many applicants that day, so be prepared to convey to the interviewer why you'd be their best choice. If your skills are an exact match for what they're looking for, you really don't have to do too much over-selling of your skills. However, if you're lacking in the skill set that they're looking for you need to impress upon them as to why you believe your past experience and current capabilities are equally useful. For example, if you're applying for a retail sales position but you've never been in retail before, you can spotlight your excellence in the sales position you held previously even though it was in a different industry.
Don't hem and haw when asked about your salary expectations. Be clear and concise about what your desired salary is. This gives you an air of confidence and security. However, keep in mind that to land the job it may be necessary for you to let them know that for the right opportunity you would accept a lower salary.
Be friendly and jovial, but don't overdo it to the point that you seem juvenile. Highlight your personal traits, your passion and eagerness to learn, as well as your professional qualifications. This is especially important if your professional qualifications fall short of what they're looking for.
Though the forecast for the current job market may look grime on the surface, by evaluating your current talents, strengths and abilities, constructing a plan for success, polishing your communication skills and applying all that you learn, you can still land a great job in 2012.

Work From Home Internet Jobs - Finding Opportunities Online

Especially for full-time moms and new moms, getting work from home internet jobs can be ideal. Of course, with a baby to take care of, you would usually want to choose to work from home and enjoy being a mom without compromising your monthly earnings. Aside from the new moms, there are also other people who would love to work at the comforts of their own home and make money while still being able to do what you love doing.

If you are interested in finding work from home internet jobs, here are a few things that might help you start with it.

Browse job sites. If you need an online job, then you have to find job sites on the internet. Make sure you get to browse legitimate job sites or at least, make sure the hiring is not among the many unscrupulous practices of unscrupulous people online.

Find sites that allow you to offer your services or your skills and talents. There are a lot of sites online that allow the meeting of sellers and buyers when it comes to skills needed and skills offered. You can register on these sites and start browsing for skills needed or you can also post your skills for employers to see your qualification. Most often, these sites will also auction the contract price of the job. Bidding is a disadvantage on your part though, as the price of the job may go lower and lower if there are lots of workers bidding for such job.

However, if you do provide good quality work, you can always find good work from home internet jobs that will compensate your quality work, and of course, you can also rely on clients that will make repeated requests of hiring.

Learn from friends and acquaintances who also work from home. Indeed, if you have a friend or a relative that has been working online, you can ask information on where to find one.

You can also find guides and eBooks online on how you can find online jobs that will help you earn a living at the comforts of your very own home. There are also a lot of opportunities online when it comes to working from home. Here are some of the easiest jobs you can find online.

- Data entry jobs are among the easiest jobs you can find on the internet. However, you have to be extra careful in dealing with data entry jobs as this can also be one of the avenues where fraudulent activities are done. Just make sure you are dealing with a legitimate website and never ever give money to be hired.

- Online customer service. As many other business owners are bringing their businesses online, they will also need an online customer service agent to handle all the customers' queries online, thus you can also grab this opportunity as your internet job.

- Transcription jobs are also in these days. You can find transcription jobs that allow you to work on your own time at the comforts of your home.

Indeed, a lot of opportunities await you. You just have to know where to find them and know how to avoid unscrupulous individuals as well.

Insurance Job Interview Advice - Ten Foolproof Tips for Getting Insurance Jobs

Insurance job interviews are never easy. It's difficult to make a good impression & even harder to impress your interviewer. We've come up with ten top tips to help you get the insurance job you'd been hoping for.
1. Learn About the Company - you can never be over-prepared for a job interview. Spend some time browsing the insurance company's website. Learn about their products & services as well as their competitors. It will make you seem much more knowledgeable and show that you are taking the interview seriously.
2. Think About The Questions - No matter how the interview is conducted there are a number of questions that you are likely to be asked. "Tell us about your experience?" or "What attracted you to apply for the job?" while the wording might change what they are to trying to find out will not. You don't need to script a response that will sound artificial. Though for questions you are likely to be asked, think in advance about how you will answer.
3. Look at your CV - It's easy to forget what you've put in your CV or covering letter. It's likely all your interviewer will know about you is contained in those documents, so it's likely to prompt a number of their questions. Refresh yourself with their content in advance so you're primed for the questions.
4. Dress Appropriately - It's not always sensible to wear a suit to a job interview but it is important to dress approriately smart. Try and find out about the dress code of the company and then dress a little smarter. It's important to make a good first impression but you have to be comfortable.
5. Answer Concisely - There's one thing worse than a bad answer in a job interview. A long answer. Try to answer the question with out getting carried away in the detail. It's important not to seem abrupt but it important not to get carried away with your answers either. It makes you seem unsure of your answer & can waste valuable interview time when you could be impressing your potential employer.
6. Use Good Body Language - Shrugging & using "closed" body language can ruin a perfectly good interview. Try your best to be relaxed & open. Use your hands expressively & think about mirroring the body language of your interviewer.
7. Ask Questions - try and prepare some questions for your interview. It can make you seem interested in the role & shows you are keen on the job. However don't ask obvious questions or those which could be easily answered if you had done some prior research.
8. Be On Time - People get delayed all the time so leave some extra leeway in your travelling time. If you turn up late you are fighting a battle to impress your potential bosses so much they forget about your poor punctuality.

Looking For a Job in America? 6 Things an International Student Needs to Know

Most international students view America as the land of golden opportunity and career growth. With great job offers, a good pay and a better living standard, America has one of the highest number of international students, mostly Asians, migrating in for jobs.
None the less, there is also this apprehension which these student face. They often fear that their American counterparts have an edge over them and that they would have to work harder to gain the same post. This is not true entirely. As a non American, the international student may have to take a few conscious measures to prove their worth. But this is more to do with the concept of fitting in than working harder. Here are a few tips that would help to achieve greater success.
1. One of the biggest hurdles is that of language. English is a global language, yet many international students may not be that fluent with it. Just knowing English is not enough. The international student should be able to express his thoughts and communicate in fluent English smoothly. The accent also matters. In most cases, the student is unable to grasp the accent of his employers and hence, is not able to make a great impression.
2. Graduating from a top American or other university with flying colors is not enough. The work culture in America is more practical and hence the student needs to prove his worth to the company. He needs to convince his American employers of his value addition skill.
3. Apart from language, the social skills also play a very important role. Polishing the social skills and adapting the American conduct would also help a long way.
4. As the international students are not born and brought up in America, their networking is often as not as good as that of an American.
