As WWDC 2012 gets closer (less than a week away), we are hearing more
rumors of what iOS 6 will offer. After seeing that OS X will be
borrowing iOS features, it now looks like some Mountain Lion
functionality will make its way to iOS 6.
According to rumors from 9to5Mac’s sources, iOS 6 will be making some much needed improvements, including some additions to Notifications Center, Mail and iCloud. The new iCloud Tabs button (in the Bookmarks menu) will be capable of syncing your open Safari browser tabs across your Mac and other iOS devices.
Allegedly, this new Mail VIPs feature will then be able to synced across multiple iOS 6 Apple devices directly to the iCloud service.
9to5Mac’s sources say that this feature will be located in the main settings menu, just underneath the Airplane toggle switch, as the above mockup image illustrates.
iOS 6 is expected to be unveiled at WWDC 2012, and it looks like we will be seeing some very exciting new features. Other rumors suggest Facebook integration and a new maps application that will forgo Google to use Apple’s own technology.

Mail in iOS 6
Apple will be introducing the Mail VIPs a feature that was found in the Mountain Lion betas. Mail VIPs allows users to assign a star next to your email contacts, and the groups can be arranged and sorted appropriately.Allegedly, this new Mail VIPs feature will then be able to synced across multiple iOS 6 Apple devices directly to the iCloud service.
Notifications in iOS 6
One of the very nice improvements in the OS X Mountain Lion, was the “Do Not Disturb” feature within the Notification Center. New reports are claiming that Apple will be making these same addition to iOS 6, making notification more useful and less obtrusive. With “Do Not Disturb” activated in iOS, any known alerts or banners will be hidden from the user to avoid distractions\, but the Notification Center area will keep track of every important alert when the user returns.9to5Mac’s sources say that this feature will be located in the main settings menu, just underneath the Airplane toggle switch, as the above mockup image illustrates.
